While Connecticut did just experience a massive snow storm, that doesn’t change the fact that spring officially arrives on Monday, March 20th and Easter will be here before we know it (April 16th).
We wanted to help you ignore the snow outside your door and start dreaming about sunny days, spring flowers, and packing up those snowsuits (we promise that will eventually happen!) so we put together our annual Easter activities roundup.
Below we have included TEN Easter activities happening in Connecticut over the next few weeks. Like most of our roundup posts, we’ve included only events taking place at destinations we’ve experienced first-hand. So be sure to check out the event details and visit the link to our destination post.
If you have a favorite Connecticut Easter event that wasn’t included on our list, let us know! Just leave a comment below.
Cheers to spring arriving soon!

Our kids always enjoy the trolley ride at this unique Connecticut destination. For their Easter event, visitors can take unlimited rides on the trolley then check out the other fun activities located inside. There will be plenty to keep the kids entertained including visiting with the Easter Bunny, crafts, and face painting. Complete the Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt and each child will receive an Easter Egg filled with goodies. While we haven’t been to the Easter event, in the past we have visited this destination for other events including the ride to the pumpkin patch and Winterfest.
This past holiday season, we got a chance to visit the Shoreline Trolley Museum for the first time. We loved seeing all of the thought and detail they put into their Santa’s Trolley Winter Wonderland event so we had to check in and see if they offered an event for the Easter season as well. Fortunately for our readers, they do! Their Easter Bunny Trolley event kicks off the weekend of April 8th and continues through the following weekend. Here are the event details from their website: “Families will ride a 100-year-old beautifully restored trolley to meet the Easter Bunny on his very own trolley car. There will be springtime crafts too!”

Northwest Park is a beautiful destination with amazing views and activities for the kids including a playground, nature center, and an animal barn. On April 15th, you can check out this wonderful park and enjoy a unique egg hunt at the same time. Call ahead to reserve your spot for the event and then pay for it at the Nature Center when you arrive. Groups are led on a short hike on one of the park’s nature trails. There the children can search for brightly colored eggs filled with treats as well as camouflaged eggs that resemble wild bird eggs. Back at the nature center, children can enjoy their treats and try to find the correct bird’s nest for their replica eggs. A great opportunity for a fun and educational experience.
This is a fun event for the whole family. In years past it was an Easter Apple Hunt and took place the week before Easter but last year they changed it to a Spring Apple Hunt and now hold the event after the Easter holiday. So it is no longer technically an Easter event but for so many families it is an Easter tradition and I like to keep it on our list. My favorite thing about the event is that the kids get to hunt for healthy apples instead of sugary sweets! Plan to come early or stay after your scheduled hunt time and enjoy some food from the Apple Barrel or one of the other vendors on site. Face painting, pony rides, and horse-drawn carriage rides are also available for an additional fee.
