On Friday, May 23, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 24, at 7:30 p.m. The Hartt School Community Division will present an original multi-genre production, HarttWorks, featuring special guest artist Savion Glover. Hartt’s award-winning Pre-Professional Program dancers will perform a selection of classical ballet works, newly-commissioned contemporary and jazz pieces, and student compositions.
Tickets to this performance would be a treat for any young dance enthusiast (without an early bedtime) or would make a great date night or moms night out event!
HarrtWorks offers the unique opportunity for audience members to observe multiple genre professional quality dance works in one cohesive production. From classical ballet pieces dating back to early nineteenth century Russia, to cutting edge premiers of new works by young emerging choreographers, there is sure to be a “work” that captivates arts enthusiasts and novice viewers alike.
Known for producing three grand scale full length ballets per season, the Hartt Community Division Dance Department’s unique presentation of diverse repertoire is presented in an equally lavish fashion.
With custom costume and lighting design enhancing the innovative pre-professional company and the addition of special guest artist and tap icon, Savion Glover, this season’s HarrtWorks performance is sure to engage dance audiences of all ages.
