We have always loved Halloween here at Out and About Mom. It’s given us many precious memories (and priceless photos!) over the years. And really, what other holiday out there literally requires you to celebrate by dressing up, eating candy and just generally acting like a kid (even if you’re actually a grownup)?!

So when the Hartford Symphony Orchestra (HSO) reached out to us about their family-friendly Halloween musical extravaganza, we knew we had to let our readers know all the details!
This Halloween, take a trip through the world of spooky folklore alongside the Hartford Symphony Orchestra. Join the HSO on Saturday, October 29th at 3:00pm for Tales of Halloween, an adventurous concert that features hair-raising encounters with the spookiest music written for the concert hall and silver screen! Live performances of such thrilling classics as “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Jaws” and “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” CT Native John Jesensky conducts this concert and features his world premiere of “Tales of Halloween” with original music, text, and illustrations by CT artists! Costumes are encouraged!
This show is designed for kids ages 4+ and their grownups, although all ages are welcome. Enjoy spooky music and haunting visuals. With spellbinding decorations and fun festive activities like trick-or-treating in the Bushnell, this concert will be a joyful fright for the whole family!
And did we mention that costumes are encouraged? 🙂
